1. What is wireless charging and how does it work?
Wireless charging is a technology that allows you to charge electronic devices without physically plugging in a wire. That’s all there is to it. It’s easy. But how does it work?
Wireless charging can be achieved by using two main types of technology: electromagnetic induction and radio frequency. Both technologies induce an electric current in a secondary coil, which is then converted to power and delivered to your device without needing any wires.
Electromagnetic Induction
In electromagnetic induction, a coil of wire or other conductive material is placed inside of a device that requires charging. The device’s charging coil is typically placed in close proximity with the device (e.g., within 1 inch), but not touching it. The key to effective wireless charging is having a sufficiently strong magnetic field, which allows for transfer of energy from the influence of the charger to the influence of the device. The primary and secondary coils react to the magnetic field that is created by the primary coil. This generates an electric current in the secondary coil, which is then converted to power and delivered to your device.

2. Wireless Charging Compatibility
Wireless charging is an extremely convenient technology and it is fast becoming a standard feature for many mobile devices these days. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is compatible with wireless charging technology. The new Galaxy S7 can charge wirelessly as well as wired. It can use both pads and stands. There are three main wireless charging standards right now:
● Qi
● PMA
● A4WP
On the Samsung Galaxy S7, wireless charging works with any Qi-compatible pad. Samsung has included a wireless charging pad in the box. Many third party manufactures offer wireless charging pads as well which will be compatible with your new device. It is worth noting that you can use a smart cover to charge your phone wirelessly as long as you place it on the pad correctly.
There are some problems with wireless charging right now. Wireless charging is more convenient, but the rate is slower than wired charging. It can take between 1-2 hours to fully charge your phone using wireless. Some devices can also be damaged if you drop them or other objects knock them out of place.
3. Do I need to remove my case while Wireless Charging?
Wireless charging pads are not universally compatible with all cases. However, Samsung offers an answer to this problem: a thin, clear protective film. This film has been specifically designed to allow the wireless charging pads to charge your Galaxy S7 while you have a case on. This means that you don’t need to remove your case in order to wirelessly charge your Galaxy S7.
If you have a case that is compatible with Galaxy S7 wireless charging, you can go ahead and use it with the wireless charging pad.
However, If you’d like to remove your case to wirelessly charge your Galaxy S7, we recommend using a thin plastic protective film, such as the one that comes in the Samsung Wireless Charging Convertible Pack*. The Convertible Pack is designed for users who wish to use both wired and wireless charging.

4. How to turn on Wireless Charging on Galaxy S7?
To use your wireless charging pad, you will first need to enable wireless charging on your Galaxy S7. The first thing that you must do is to access the settings menu on your phone. You will then need to scroll down and find the “Device maintenance” option. This is the menu that allows you to configure wireless charging settings for your Galaxy S7.
1. Go to “Device maintenance” and then choose “Wireless charging”.
2. Next, scroll down and find the “Charger detection” option. This is where you will be able to enable or disable the wireless charger altogether.
3. If you wish to use the wireless charger then you can switch it on by clicking on the checkbox in front of it. If this option is not available, then you probably don’t have a wireless charging pad enabled yet.
4. Go back to the “Wireless charging” menu and this time, find the “Charging speed” option.
5. Again, you can switch on or off wireless charging by simply clicking on the checkbox in front of charging speed. You can also select different speeds if you want to (the choices are slow, medium or fast). You should be able to use the wireless charger once you turn it on properly.
