There are a few ways to transfer PS3 data. The simplest method is to use a USB cable and drag the data files over to the new console. The only problem with this method is that many modern TVs don’t come with USB ports anymore, so you’ll have to plug it into your computer or other device in order for it to work. For this reason, we advise using an ethernet cable as well. This will let you transfer your data between PS3 consoles without any outside hardware, making it the easiest way to move all of your data. Another popular method is to copy over the data by using a USB flash drive or an external hard drive. We advise against this method because it can be unreliable and there’s always a chance that you could lose some of your data, or that you could damage your PS3.
Note: If you have multiple consoles, make sure to do the transfer to a new console, not loosing data on your old one. You can copy all of your data from the old console and then use the rescue disc to move over all of your saved game progress to your new console. This is usually the safest way to transfer data between consoles.
How to Transfer PS3 Data

To copy your saved game data, first you’ll need to connect the two PS3s together using an ethernet cable. Next, on the PS3 that you want to transfer the save data from, go to game in the XMB, scroll down and select [Game Data Utility]. Select Remote Game Save Data Utility and then select [Save Data Utility (PS3)]. Now select which save you want to copy and hit [Copy]. There’s no limit on the number of copies you can make, but each PS3 will only be able to save once, so if you want to make several copies of something it’s best to save the game on a separate memory card.
You can also copy saved games from one PS3 to another by copying the save data file and installing the game on a different PS3. This requires a USB flash drive or memory card that has already been packed with save data. Now you can install the game from the Flash Drive on your new PS3 and play it from there. Alternately, you can copy the save data file, then use the original memory card to put new save data on it. There are many ways to copy saved games without an ethernet cable. Here are a few:

Loading data on your old PS4 will let you access it instantly and transfer it to another console, but copying saved data from one console to another is actually more complicated. If you’re transferring a title from one PS4 system to another, that’s the only way. If you’re just moving saved data from one PS4 to another, then it’s not possible.
You’re going to want a secondary USB hard drive—one that’s at least 256 GB, formatted as FAT32, and not encrypted. The first step is to copy all of the data from your old PS4’s internal storage to the external hard drive, using a computer. Be sure you have a full backup of the data on your PC before starting this process.
Once everything is backed up and you have your flash drive ready, use these steps:
1. Log into your PS4 with the account you want to copy over.
2. On your PS4 home screen, select Settings > [Your Name] > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage.
3. Select an application to see the save data for that game and select Copy to USB Storage Device.

The main options you have for transferring data from one PS4 to another are: USB flash drive, external hard drive or PlayStation Plus online storage. We would advise using USB flash drive or an external hard drive as these allow you to move data from one console to another without the need for a computer. If you’re using PlayStation Plus, then we recommend using the cloud storage. This allows up to 20 GB of online storage which can be transferred easily between PS4s.
Data can be moved from one PS4 to another by one of these methods:
– Transferring over USB and Ethernet (recommended)
– Transferring via the cloud storage (if you have Sony’s PlayStation Plus service, you will get 20 GB of online storage, which is enough for a lot of games. This can be transferred by copying files to the console’s hard drive. If you’re using this method, do not copy games and system data).
– Transferring over a USB flash drive (you cannot transfer data from PS4 to PS4 using this method, only from one PS3 to another)
Before you make any transfers, make sure that both consoles are turned on. To transfer over Ethernet cable, use the following instructions:
1. Connect the two consoles with an ethernet cable. Make sure that you plug the Ethernet cable into the console of your choice and not directly into your router. If you plug it directly into your router, you could bypass the filters set through the software on the other console and cause issues with your internet.
2. On the PS4 that’s receiving data, press and hold X until the option to ‘Restore Default Settings’ appears. Select this option and then choose ‘Yes’.
