Titusville Waste Management has been in operation since 1969. Incorporated by the Titusville city council in 1968, the company was originally called “Titusville’s Sanitary Solid Waste Management”. The company evolved over the years until it became Titusville Waste Management, Inc. in July of 2007. The company is simply known as “Titusville Waste Management” to most residents and employees alike. Presently Titusville Waste Management, Inc. is a nonprofit organization. The company has a staff of fifteen (15) people and a salary expense of approximately $600,000.00 per year. The company is owned by the Titusville City Council, all of whom are shareholders.
The Company is a fully operational and operational waste management company. The city council has asked the Board of Directors to submit a financial report in the 2010-2011 fiscal year for approval. The city council has requested that there be no operating or capital expenditures. The city council’s request is in total support of the company.
The city council has granted the company a $1,000,000.00 loan from the city’s reserve fund which can be used for any purpose deemed to be necessary by Titusville Waste Management, Inc..
