Instagram is a social media platform that is widely popular and has great engagement rates. It has over 800 million+ active monthly users, which can only make it more difficult to have your voice heard with all of the noise. In order to combat this, many people have taken to posting their own selfies in a comment section and asking for their own followers to repost the post. It is highly likely that, as the author of this article, you have received one of these requests. However, I wish to make this a lesson learned for all of those who may soon face such an embarrassing situation.
If you have accepted an offer, no matter how brief it may be, then please read on before you take any action.
Although the Instagram comment section is quite small and, in some cases, may feel like a ‘safe’ way of engaging in conversation with your followers, there are a few key things that need to be kept in mind when using such spaces.
How Can You Undelete Comments You’ve Posted but Wish You HADN’T?
HOW TO UNDELETE A COMMENT ON INSTAGRAM There are two main ways to go about fixing your mistake. The first, and most likely option, is to simply delete the comment you posted and repost it. This can be easily done by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the comment window. Clicking this button will bring you to a menu with options to edit or delete the comment. Now, all that has to be done is to click or tap the delete option and then repost your message. The other way to go about fixing this mistake is through the app’s undo function.
Step 1: Go to the big three dot button on the comment editor. Step 2: Click or tap on the “Undo” option.
If Your Comment Wasn’t Deleted by Accident or if Someone Unfollowed Enough for Your Comment to Get Removed…
If your comment wasn’t deleted by accident or if someone unfollowed enough for your comment to get removed, you’re in a bit of a bind. Unfortunately, there is no way to undo something that has been posted on Instagram outside of deleting the comment and reposting it. The platform does not allow comments to be deleted or otherwise altered once they are up and out in the open. However, if you didn’t mean to post your message in the first place and weren’t planning on posting another, you should consider deleting the comment itself. To do this, simply click on the three-dot icon and select delete. Now, you’ll need to repost your post and hope it does not upset anyone too badly.
This is a comment that was posted on Instagram and had zero to do with its intended audience or what it was supposed to be about. The woman who posted the photo said she didn’t want any comments made about her family and the only way for people to comment on her post correctly was no matter how many times you posted it people would think the same thing so if you are posting this make sure you don’t agree with what is being said.
I was told this was the reason it was flagged for violating the community guidelines and it got removed from the original user’s page.
How Do I Know If My Comment Was Already Deleted and How Can I Stop This from Happening Again?
IF YOUR COMMENT WAS REMOVED If your comment was removed by Instagram, you’ll typically see a red box where your message used to be. Also, you’ll see a message in the upper right corner of the screen that reads “Your comment has been removed.” If your message was deleted by accident or if someone unfollowed you enough that it was removed, you’ll likely receive a notification from Instagram saying the comment was removed. This will be accompanied by a message stating: “Your comment has been removed for breaking community rules.” While this is the case, it is not practically possible to reach out to Instagram and have your comment deleted again. With your comment gone, you’ve likely missed a crucial chance to reach the person.
CHANGE YOUR COMMENT Strategy: Instead, think of another witty comment or post a meaningful picture that your audience will enjoy. If you want to get back at the person who deleted your comment, use humor. Try something like “You deleted my comment? Here’s my best frowny face. #unfollow. #bye.” This will make them think twice about removing your comments.
