Introduce the topic of most valuable partners and explain why they are important
The most valuable partner show is a show hosted by the developers of Married With Children, Al Jean and his co-writer, Chris Romano. The show is broadcast on the television channel Spike and began in 2002. The show has been met with positive results, and many fans are discussing its success.
The show features scenes from the television series’ show and audience. The show is divided into five different segments; a break, a dialogue segment, an interview segment, the skit and the commercial. The skits are clips from the television series. These clips include Al and Chris making fun of Don’s short temper, Edith’s strained relationships with sons Henry and Alan as well as Al’s problems with Wanda when she was Donna’s boss.
Al Jean feels that most people already know about Married With Children. “We’re not trying to be a show that is going after the new viewer,” said Jean. The show has changed since it began in 2002. When “most valuable partner” was initially introduced, it was in the form of a skit on the television series, however Jean and Romano thought that this idea would not work well. “We wanted to make something original to the format,” said Al. “It [MVP] came out of the category of a skit that we didn’t quite feel was going to work for us.” When introducing the topic, Al and Romano try their very best not to give too much information. “We want you to try [the skit] on for size,” said Romano.
