What experience do you have in the field of systems engineering?

I am an experienced systems engineer that has been in the field for more than 5 years. I have worked with a wide variety of manufacturers and large companies in the US and abroad. I have managed more than 100 engineers. I understand the different parts of the systems engineering field, how each part contributes to an effective and efficient system. As a systems engineer, I am capable of figuring out how to develop a product from the ground up, from a pencil sketch to production . As a systems engineer, I am able to fix problems that have already been discovered in products or processes in order to prevent future failures.
As a Systems Engineer, I can assist in designing and building new equipment for paper-based manufacturing. I have designed new equipment to make paper-based manufacturing more productive and efficient. I have changed the layout of a factory floor area, I have moved machines around, and get rid of machines that are no longer needed.
As a systems engineer, I employ more than 100 engineers (and sometimes more) in order to achieve as much efficiency as possible in the system. I know how to prepare and deliver reports that are clear and descriptive of what has been accomplished.
As a systems engineer, I can repair broken or damaged products in order to save the company money and help them stay on schedule. I have repaired broken equipment in manufacturing lines, in offices that were no longer being used.
As a systems engineer, I know how to use statistical analysis to figure out what needs to be done for a better reliability of the product.

Tell me about a time when you had to solve a difficult problem.

I was working on creating a new manufacturing line for a large medical device manufacturer. It was important that we had the new line functioning properly since this device saved lives. We were having some problems with the process and it brought about a big argument. I listened to what everyone had to say, then I came up with an alternate solution to their problem. The solution ended up working great and what would have taken weeks of arguing and conflict was solved in a matter of hours.
When I was working on this project, I was dealing with many conflicting goals and personalities. We had the strict engineers who wanted things done the right way, and they were arguing against the engineers that were trying to get it done faster. The managers were pulling in all different kinds of directions, trying to make sure that we could meet all of our deadlines while still being cost effective. We also had people from other departments like manufacturing and quality who wanted us to do more testing before production began. Then there were the physicians and nurses who wanted to see this device on the market as soon as possible. It was a lot for anyone to handle.
It was difficult to figure out what everyone wanted when they were all yelling at each other, but I knew that it was important to not let personal things get in the way of making sure we could meet our deadlines. We needed to make sure that we found a solution that everyone agreed on, and I worked hard to find an answer for each person in the room. Everyone helped, and eventually we were able to get all the parts together for our new line. I did not let any of the problems get to me and helped everyone work towards a solution.

How would you go about designing a system that meets specific requirements?

I would then create a block chart that showed what each part does and when it will be finished. I would then create a flow chart for the whole system. It shows which parts go together and how the parts work. I would use the flow chart as a guide for creating a systems diagram. A system diagram shows how the parts will be connected together. For example, I might have a system diagram that shows an LED display, a touch screen and some logic switches. Each of these is connected to some type of computer and through the system wiring they are all connected together to make up one programmable control system that can run at different speeds and on multiple programs.
I would then add resource planning time estimates to determine how long each part will take to make. I would also create an estimated cost list to help determine how much each resource will cost. I would then use these estimates, along with the current prices of resources, to make a schedule and budget.

What are some of the challenges and benefits of working in the systems engineering field?

I have the opportunity to solve problems for a wide variety of companies. I also have the opportunity to use a lot of different technologies and understand how they work. I also have the opportunity to work with other engineers from different disciplines. I also have the opportunity to work with a very diverse group of people.
I would say that one of the benefits of being a systems engineer is the ability to take on different projects and try to solve a wide variety of problems. I have also enjoyed working on different projects/projects in industries that I am not as familiar with.
I have also enjoyed being able to work with various people in my company at various levels. We have a large team and everyone has their own job, but we work together and we are able to solve problems together.
I also have enjoyed working with other companies and people from different companies. It’s a really neat thing to be able to work with a variety of people from different companies.
I also get to work with a lot of people within my company. I can see how their jobs are done and I get to troubleshoot their problems, which is another benefit of being in the systems engineering field.

Can you describe a project that you worked on as part of your previous job duties?

The project that I worked on was part of a new manufacturing line. We had to make sure all the equipment was functioning properly. If a pump did not work we had to determine why it didn’t work. Once we found the problem we had to repair it and make sure it was working correctly.
My previous work experience was as a systems engineer. My job was to design, develop and manage computer hardware and software systems to provide the necessary computerized equipment. One of my projects involved helping train people on how to use the computer system. We had to teach everyone how the system worked from learning how to login, set up their desktop and make a few simple clicks. I also showed them how to operate the printers, copy machines and fax machines that were part of our systems.
