Prelude CC comes with a friendly and modern user interface which is easy to learn and intuitive to use. It supports drag and drop features, meaning that you can easily drag audio files onto the application’s window. It also comes with an advanced remote control interface that makes it possible to control Prelude from a tablet. Moreover, if you have a custom-built computer or if you use audio hardware that does not have a standard MIDI header, Prelude can be customized with MIDI mapping for direct integration into your DAW.
Prelude is a completely free application that runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It is 100% free both as in beer and as in speech. [No hidden fees]. If you have purchased Prelude CC from the author he/she will always support the product for one year after the purchase date.
Prelude is available in different languages. Some of the more popular ones are English, Spanish, French, German and Chinese. Currently there are no plans to include other languages into Prelude because the author wants to concentrate on new features rather than translations.
You can import your own music or use the built-in tracks to get started
If you cannot find the song that you want to edit in your music library, you can import songs from CDs or other media. You can also create random arrangements of audio loops, ready to be mixed and edited into your tracks. If you do not have audio tracks at all, Prelude can generate random tracks using the “random” button. The software also provides a collection of high-quality audio samples, loops and kits so that you can begin composing right away.
You can create your own arrangements by importing audio loops, or you can use the computer’s microphone to record live performances and turn them into music. Prelude also allows you to import MIDI files and edit them with ease, as well as make your own MIDI tracks from scratch. The software includes a comprehensive suite of traditional tools and advanced features that will allow you to build unique rhythms, riffs and melodies. Navigating the interface is easy because it is designed to feel familiar – both beginners and experienced musicians alike will feel comfortable.
If you are a sound designer and need to build unique sound effects, Prelude is an ideal tool. You can export your sounds as Sonicfire Pro or Quicktracks Pro, so that you can use them in your compositions.

If you want to create a final MP3 or AAC file for playback on any device, the software provides an export function that can help you truly make your tracks shine. You can even adjust the quality of your exported files to help fit their playback on different devices. Moreover, you can also export your finished project as a MIDI file for further integration with other software and hardware.
*What you can export:
-Drum Editor: Files exported from the Drum Editor are exported as WAV. You can also select a desired sample rate.
-Tuner: Files exported from the Tuner are exported as MIDI files. You can also select a desired sample rate. Furthermore, you can also make all kinds of customized settings for each individual track or folder within the project.
*How to export your project:
1.If you want to export your entire finished project as an MP3 file, simply hit the “Save” button located at the top-right of the screen. If you want to export a specific part of your project, use the selection bar located on top of this button to select which files you wish to export.
