The History of Palo Alto….
Palo Alto dates back to the early 1770’s when it was part of the larger Rancho de las Pulgas, an area covering most of modern-day Menlo Park, Mountain View, and a small portion of Los Altos. The adobe that was built here in 1863 marked the beginnings of Palo Alto itself. The name Palo Alto translates to “tall stick” or “tall tree.
