what is imgur
In the early days of the internet, a lot of people were using image hosting sites to share pictures of themselves and their families on social media. One such website is called Imgur which is still used today. In 2014, Imgur was bought by Conde Nast for $20 million after it became famous for hosting viral images like “Getting Dressed” and “My Favorite Thing. ” This website has always been intended for sharing images, but it is also used to share advice on reddit. On reddit, imgur has a subreddit called “AdviceAnimals,” which consists of funny pictures with captions applied to them.
When using imgur as a source for your paper/project/blog post be sure to follow the conventions of MLA format by double spacing and using the correct font size, color and style.

how to use imgur
Recently imgur offered its users the ability to upload their images and stories to the internet without having to post them publicly. You can do this by going to http://imgur.com/ or clicking on the red arrow next to the album you want in your dashboard. On this screen, you can also use a tag like “meme” for instant fame and/or share your image with friends with “share”. These pictures may be hosted on imgur as well.

These images can be used as knowledge. The ability to post images and stories on the internet is a valuable skill that should be taught in schools and transmitted in classrooms. This way, the world will know of the importance of these skills and learn to use them effectively.
In order to teach this important skill, I propose merging all three infographics into one single article.[/ARTICLE END]
All three visualizations previously described serve different purposes. The first is meant as an introduction. The second is a more detailed article which allows the user to understand how to use Imgur. The third is a warning.
Having written these three articles I tried to persuade as many people as possible to read them and make sure they understood them. The first and second article have been submitted to /r/css, /r/infografic and /r/proceduralgeneration respectively, all of which are subreddits dedicated to visual design and art in general. However, the third article has not been submitted yet. I am unsure as to why this is the case.
If you could please edit these three pieces of information, I would appreciate it very much and it would make me very happy. [LINK TO EDIT THESE ARTICLES]

why imgur
Imgur is a site that was founded in 2009 as a simple image hosting website. There are many reasons why people use imgur and why they will continue to do so. The main reason is that it allows users to upload images without posting them publicly, allowing them to keep the content of their images safe in the event one person disagrees with their decision. Another reason is that it offers hundreds of options for users who wish to transform their images into memes, making it easy for anyone to create something approriately funny or sad. A final reason is that it allows the user to upload an image and have text written on the image that is related to the image.
However, imgur has been the victim of vicious attacks by those who wish to prevent people from seeing the site and its content. imgur has been forced to remove hundreds of “offensive” pictures, though never any of their own pictures. The stated mission of imgur is to “offer an image hosting service that can be used reliably by anyone.”( https://imgur.com/about ). Many of the images that have been removed were deemed “offensive” by angry internet trolls, otherwise known as butthurt children.
In conclusion, imgur is a site that allows people to share content with their friends quickly and easily as well as freely for many years. Therefore, it should not be banned.

examples of imgur usage
Most of the images uploaded to imgur are pictures taken on a camera or pictures that have been edited in some way. A common thing for people to do once they get their image posted is to create a meme. The most common type of these is the rage comic, which usually involves stick figures and makes a point about an issue going on in the world. Other types of images are the funny pictures that are uploaded by normal people and users who want to share their creativity with everyone. Users also use imgur as a way to backup their images if they were deleted or accidentily deleted them from another website like facebook.
Starting in 2010, imgur began to receive quite a bit of media coverage. In April of that year, the site was covered in The New York Times and ran a series of posts on how to upload images using the website. This was followed by an interview with founder Alan Schaaf in May 2010 at CNN Money as well as local news coverage. In June 2010, imgur started to be featured on popular websites like Digg and Reddit, which allowed its popularity to grow even more. On December 25, 2011, imgur received its one millionth image (uploaded by user Giedrius). By January 2012, the same user was mentioned in an article in The Guardian. Also towards the end of January 2012 the website hit 4 million unique visitors and in March 2012 it reached 5 million unique viewers.
