What is the average snap score and how does it work
A snap score is a quick, relatively simple way to measure the “temperature” of a photo. The idea is fairly complicated but it’s meant to help people understand what happens when they take pictures. When a photographer takes a picture, a ton of small changes happen in the camera sensor, in the lens and so on, that we do not notice. But your camera or phone actually calculates (with some error) how these changes affect the picture you take. The newer cameras are better at this calculation – but even a newer camera will not give you perfect results. So the SnapScore is meant to help you understand how your pictures might turn out by comparing them to other shots of similar settings and lighting conditions. The SnapScore idea is that you take several pictures and then look at the results. You can compare it to the other photos or, if you want to get fancy, you can calculate the “average” of all of them. This is a bit tricky – so here’s a guide. (It’s really simple but there are lots of ways for it to go wrong. It’s worth doing this once so that you understand it and can do it again if you wish. It takes 2 or 3 minutes – don’t worry about overdoing it).

How to increase your snap score
SnapScore is meant to be used with photos that have similar settings and lighting conditions. So this means that if you shoot in a studio with 100 different light positions, you can calculate SnapScores for each one and they will all be different. If you shoot with the same flash setting, but at two different distances from the subject, you will get two SnapScores. And if you are in a 100% direct light situation with the same lighting conditions, your SnapScore will be different from all others. Don’t think about this too much because it does not make any sense – just go out and shoot!
SnapScore is not a science, it is just a number. But, there are things you can do to increase your SnapScore and this article will try to explain how. We will use three photos to explain the basic theory behind what makes your SnapScore look appealing or not so appealing.

What are some of the benefits of having a high snap score
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] . Thank you for using SnapScore!
As an affiliate, you can post your SnapScore on your website to help connect with potential customers. It’s also a great way for business owners and marketers to create a community that extends beyond their physical locations. For example, if you have a location in New York City and Philadelphia, you could post your SnapScore on those two websites to help attract more shoppers who live in either city.

How to use snap score to your advantage
SnapScore is meant to be used for quick comparison of images. So you do not want to think about it too much and try to recreate some of the conditions. You can do that by first setting your camera or phone up with a light meter so you know the lighting conditions and then taking pictures in that exact light, which should give you a high SnapScore. If you want to control the light more, use a flashlight instead of your camera flash. But if you are on a budget, the easiest way to get a higher SnapScore is to use these four guidelines:
1. Get a hard surface:
Hard surfaces are best because they won’t give you any glare that gives you lower SnapScore. But unlike the previous example, you do want to use other backdrops with hard surfaces, not just a wall or something, because the angle and distance from the camera is important here. If it is too close to your subject, your subject will look blurred. If it is too far away, your subject will look pixelated. Make sure the setting is just right and that you are taking pictures in the exact lighting conditions in order to get a high SnapScore.
2. Use a tripod:

What are some of the ways that you can improve your snap score
When you compare your SnapScore to other photos you like, a good place to start is the lighting conditions. You might think that it doesn’t matter what the light levels are if the light is the same – but it does! So take a photo in shade with the same lighting conditions as another one and compare what happens. It might be that the other one is more colorful or has more depth because it was in sunlight. If the photos were taken with different lenses, you can also see how that affects your SnapScore.
What else can you do? If there is a lot of clutter in the background, try moving further away or changing your angle. Sometimes the things that are around you and attached to you don’t look so good in a photo, but if you turn around completely or move a little bit they disappear from view. If you think it will make a big difference, try taking the picture again.
