What mono audio is
Mono audio is audio originally recorded in mono. It has become a term that is sometimes used to refer to any audio source which was originally recorded with only one microphone (monaural production). The term monaural can also refer to a single loudspeaker.[1]
A monaural recording is made using a single microphone. Although, it is possible to record a musical instrument or vocalist in stereo with two microphones it was not cost effective at the time. However, this method is more common in percussion. This method also has the potential to yield better-sounding results because of the sound’s original directionality when compared to the later method of creating stereo recordings by combining multiple mono tracks into a mono track that could then be re-recorded in stereo.
Mono recordings, however, can express timing and groove in ways that stereo cannot. In jazz and other genres, mono recordings are considered “raw”. Some people believe the comparable sound quality for the two methods is dependent upon the manner in which each was recorded.

How to check if your phone has mono audio
The iPhone has some internal speakers. These speakers do not have the capability to play stereo sound. Even if you have a Headphone jack, you can not use them to play mono audio.

Why you might want to use mono audio
Firstly, Iphone’s internal speaker is not that loud. It is impossible to listen to it on an airplane or in a movie theater without the headphones. If you want to watch movies on your iphone, you can purchase the headphone with a better sound quality.
Although I have the iphone 4 without nano-sim, but in this article, I will use the iphone 4 and the headphones. My question is whether it is possible to listen to the music on iPhone using mono audio.
The reason why I want to use mono audio is that I want to save additional space. In addition, sound quality has never been a priority for me. In a movie theater or an airplane, you might not notice whether there is mono or stereo sound. Therefore, it might not be a problem.
We will see how to connect the headphones to the phone and get the music.
Note 1: This is not about iPhone4S (64GB) or iPhone5 (16GB) but only about iphone3GS(32GB). I do not know how to directly apply this solution to these models.
Note 2: Unregistering the iphone’s bluetooth device via Bluetooth Settings might be required.
