Introduce the idea of automated building and how it works
Many people are surprised to learn that robots are able to build structures. With the recent advancements in robotics and AI, automated building has become a reality and is growing everyday. It is very important for the future space structures to be able to build themselfs so that we can have more time do other things like research.
When you think of robots, you probably think of a machine that does the jobs that humans cannot do. But recently, some robots have become more than that. In fact, some are able to do tasks that are not even possible for the human hand such as building a house in one single day!
This is possible because of automated building. The principle of automated building is very simple. A large 3D printer, controlled by a computer programs assembles all parts needed to build the house and then puts them all together.
Here is an example of a house that was built using automated building. Yes, this is a real house!
The house was built in only 5 hours by one robot. It could build the entire structure all by itself without any human intervention. If it wasn’t for automated building, this would have taken 10 years to build by a normal contractor!

Showcase a few examples of buildings that have been automated
A city will be built on the moon and robots will build the whole thing. The robots will be able to build all different kinds of buildings like houses, malls, etc. How cool is that? Well, it’s not just science-fiction, it’s already happening. The buildings on the moon will be automated and most likely so will our future homes on Earth.
Built-in robots are in charge of construction, building materials and any other major steps while the workers look up instructions. Human workers are still required to set up the foundation, and to oversee the building’s progress. Once the robots have finished the building and they can’t be left unattended any longer, they will activate another type of robotic worker (possibly AI) in order to fulfill the final steps and to make sure everything is right.
The ultimate goal of this is that no one human needs to work, because humans like making things too complicated and mess them up. The built-in robots will be able to complete any work without a mistake. This will lead to more efficient buildings that are also safe and secure.

Discuss the benefits of using automated building techniques
The obvious benefit is that we will have more time to do other things. Also, it is a lot cheaper to use robots and AI to build things especially in space. It will also be faster to build things in space then it is on earth since there is no gravity to hold things down. For example, a space elevator would be able to reach the moon or mars without the need for rocket fuel or materials. This thread is intended to take the discussion a bit further beyond just using robots and AI to build things how these things could change our space program and our space colonization efforts.

Talk about some of the challenges associated with automated building
One of the biggest challenges is making sure that the machines are totally autonomous so that they are not relying on humans for anything. Also, the robots may not be able to build certain things that we need. But, the robots do not have to be perfect because they will be working in space where there are no rules or laws. This allows us to let the robots make mistakes and do things that are not as good as humans. One of the perks of having robots instead of humans is that we can keep costs down and build more things.
The other problem with building machines is figuring out what to build. We need to make sure that the machines can build all different kinds of structures and objects, otherwise there would be no reason for them to be in space. We need to make sure that the machines are taking things into account like where they are on Mars and if there is a decent amount of water or not. There might be structures that we can’t build or whatever else, so we need to figure out what these things actually are to make sure the robots can build them.
The Martian surface is really hard to build on because of how hard it is for robots, for humans, and for people in Earth’s gravity to work. But, there is still a lot of ways that robots can help. When you’re building in space, you need to figure out where the materials are and where they come from and how to get them. We need to make sure the robots are able to do this because otherwise the structures would be built wrong.

Start experimenting with the robots. Go to YouTube and type in automated building to see what kind of different kinds of buildings you can make. Also, you can join an organized building club to learn some of the techniques that the teams use.
Make sure to not use the same circuit over and over again. Instead, create a unique design. Also, try making it look nice with color and make it aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Your city should have a lot of variation in your buildings which can be quite the challenge for an automated builder. However, it is a great way to learn how to build and experiment with different building styles.
