Evernote is a program that helps you remember everything and get things done, by capturing just about anything on your iphone. The basic idea behind it is that you keep all your notes in one place. You can organise them into notebooks, which are categories (like a folder system), and tags, which are kind of like categorised folders. You can even use the iPhone’s camera recognising function to take photos and put them into the notes.
I got a free trial of Evernote while I was doing my daily research on sifting through their web pages to figure out all the different ways they can help you stay organised and get things done. Evernote is free, and if that’s not reason enough to try it out, here’s even more:
1) It works offline.
It’s not quite true that you can’t use Evernote online, but what it means is that you’ll get your information only as you’re connected to the net. When my daughter was born, I took a few days off work and stayed home nursing her. The records from my admission to A&E and the stay in hospital have all gone with me, along with all the other important stuff like insurance forms, copies of her birth certificate, NHS card etc. (And what I did with them on the day!) But all that’s in the cloud, which might be all well and good, but my non-cloudy, background-free life actually requires that all my Evernote notebooks be stored on my phone. Which means if I don’t have internet access for a few days, all that information is lost.
2) It’s now available as an Android app.

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service that allows you to access your files in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, as well as other third-party programs on a variety of devices. Google Drive gives you 15GB free storage space. This free storage space can be used for files like photos or videos that you want to backup online or you can use it for storage of your documents.
There are two storage services that let you store files online – Google Drive and OneDrive. If you want the latter, you have to register for a Microsoft account. Although both of these services provide the same features, Google Drive is newer and has more features implemented in it. The only way to transfer files between your phone and computer is through a third-party app like Dropbox , so if you don’t already have a great app like that, be sure to get it before using Google Drive.
