What is Evans & Chambers Technology and what do they offer their clients
Evans & Chambers Technology is a tech-savvy, innovative IT consulting and software development firm. We partner with our customers to find the best solutions for their business needs. We do this by drawing on the latest technology available to help them achieve their goals. We also provide and supervise the implementation of our customers’ needs, including all software development, system administration, and project management.
Since Evans & Chambers Technology is a virtual company, our clients benefit from the following benefits:
☑ Business flexibility: Employees are able to work from home or any location they choose. Telecommuting and working from home allow employees to enjoy the comfort of their own surroundings, eliminating unnecessary distractions and allowing them to be more productive. This also frees up office space for the employees who remain on site.
☑ Increased productivity: Employees that telecommute are able to set their own schedules. Since they are not bound by the constraints of their physical location, they are able to control when and where they work. This allows them to maximize the flow of productivity throughout their day.
How did the company come about and who are the founders
The company originated as a result of an IT services business that was established in the late 1980s. Over the years, the IT consulting business was expanded to include software development and system administration. In 2008, with a rapidly growing demand for our consulting and technology support services, we hired our first full-time staff members to manage those services. At that time we also began providing specialized software development services, including programming in Java Script, Ruby on Rails, and PHP Web development. The steady growth of our company has enabled us to expand our development and technology services group.
In early 2011, we hired our first full-time sales staff and moved into our new space at the north end of Waverley Street in Victoria. In 2012, we grew to include five full-time employees. In February 2013, we launched evansandchambers.ca — the company’s website — with a focus on improving communication between clients and consultants.
The company was originally owned by Brian Chambers and Ryan Evans. In 2013, the majority of the company was acquired by Evans & Chambers Inc., a private Ontario-based software development firm, with Michael Evans and Cordell Chambers continuing to own and operate the Vancouver-based technology services company.

Case studies of some of the companies they have helped in the past
At Evans & Chambers, we have a number of customers with unique challenges. One of our clients needed an online scheduling system for their summer camp. It is not easy to manage a summer camp from a desk in the office, so they needed to find a way to allow their camp counselors and other staff members to plan activities while they were out in the field. Our staff had an interest in recreation and outdoors, so they were able to develop a system that would allow the counselors and staff to record, track and report on special activities, as well as generate reports on various activities. The site presented a variety of features for the registration process, including payment options as well as optional forms for volunteers who would be staffing the program.
Another of our customer’s businesses was in the business of buying merchandise from companies that were going out of business. They would then resell those items at wholesaler prices to smaller retailers. Most of the time, a particular item is only sold by a single store, so they needed an online system that allowed them to manage their inventory and transfer it to other customers. Since they handle used items, there was an additional aspect to evaluate when managing inventory – quality control.
Another of our clients works with charitable organizations. They need a way to manage all of their donated items, including those that are going to help needy families in the community. Not all charities are the same. They need to be able to evaluate the quality of each item they receive, and have an online system that allows them to keep track on both quantity and quality of each donation made.
The team behind Evans & Chambers Technology and their dedication to helping businesses succeed
Evans & Chambers was founded by Chris Meyers, who is the Vice President of Technology and Development. He started the company in 1992 and is responsible for all strategic planning, new product development, and technical direction. Along with his wife, Julie Meyers, he is actively involved with the company’s philanthropic and community activities. Together they both serve on the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics Northwest chapter. In collaboration with other not-for-profit organizations, Evans & Chambers funded a computer lab for disadvantaged youth in Washington State. The lab was developed as a partnership between Evans & Chambers, the United Way of Snohomish County and the Volunteers of America. Evans & Chambers also sponsors technology training courses to adults in our community who have limited access to computers. The company understands the importance of giving back and supporting the local community. This is why they were part of the announcement in December 2006, when MCI Communications decided to bring broadband to downtown Everett. “This is a great opportunity to be a part of this economic development and technological renaissance,” Meyers says. “My hope is that through our partnership with MCI, we will stimulate an entire community and help create local jobs and opportunities for people with disabilities.”
We believe that education will play a big role as technology evolves in the workplace. For this reason, Evans & Chambers actively supports and donates to the University of Washington’s Information School, the nation’s first school for information. The University of Washington’s Department of Computer Science is also home to Evans & Chambers’ Microsoft Technology Center. The technology center provides support for software developers, as well as a place for them to network with each other.
