What is Cure and Associates PC
Cure and Associates PC is an independent, one-person practice that has been in operation since 1995. The firm was formed by attorney John Cure, who wanted to improve the quality of legal documentation in his field. Today, we are lawyers who do more than just write. We also train and provide continuing legal education seminars as well as handle a wide-variety of administrative and business matters.
John Cure is a paralegal specialist and registered legal document preparer. He has taken over forty hours of continuing education courses in the past three years, and has done several webinars on issues that arise with self-prepared wills. He is also a member of the International Association of Legal Assistants (IALA) and has served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the South Florida Chapter from 2006-2008. Cure is also a member of the American Association of Paralegals (AAP), has been teaching Continuing Legal Education courses for the AAP and has spoken at their national conventions in New York City, and London England. John currently serves as Legal Liaison for the AAP Southern Region.
What services do they offer
Our attorneys handle the complete range of legal and business matters concerning a wide variety of clients. These include individual, corporate and small business owners, family and estate planning experts, tax planners and self-employed persons. We also handle contract reviews and transactional matters. Our focus is to provide quality legal services at a reasonable cost. We are willing to give advice, prepare documents and represent our clients before government agencies, courts and administrative bodies. We also provide legal services on a referral basis.
Our firm is comprised of four attorneys: Peter W. Levesque is the managing partner; Nancy J. Walsh is an associate; John W. McDevitt works in the office on a temporary basis; and Joseph P. DesJardins practices as a solo practitioner and with his partner, Kathleen J. McDevitt [no relation].
Before joining our firm, Nancy was the director of health care policy for the Saint Lawrence Center for Medical Care. John worked for more than twenty-five years at Wellington Management Company in New York City. In recent years he was involved with business management, investment advisory services and planning. Joseph practices as a solo practitioner. Kathleen practices as the principal of White Rose Legal Services with her own associate.

You have a one-person shop, and your attorney knows you, has your file and has worked with you before. He can communicate directly with you rather than relying on an assistant. He is accessible whenever you need him, not just during “normal” business hours. If a question comes up at 3 a.m., he can answer it for you immediately. He can work with you on a “flat fee’ so you know what your total costs will be in advance. He can also offer suggestions and recommendations related to business or personal issues. He can help you develop a “roadmap” for your business, and he can establish the right kind of trust necessary to conduct business in today’s marketplace.
Most people will find it easier to speak directly with their attorney without having to go through their assistants. If they are paying for this service, they should be able to address their concerns themselves rather than have an assistant present as a buffer.
