What is Code Vein and what platforms is it available on
Code Vein is a 3D action role-playing video game developed by Gray Haddock, the creator of the indie hit, Nyctophobia. The game was originally developed for Mac OS X and Linux based PCs, but since then, with Code Vein having gone viral on PC’s and Xbox One being released it has also been ported to PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch.
Code Vein will release on September 28th and it is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is published by Bandai Namco, a Japanese company and the title itself is currently available in Japanese, English (US), French, Italian and Spanish. Although it was previously said that the game would only be released in North America and Europe. This may still be true but there has been no word on when or if the game will be released in other regions at this time.

The storyline of Code Vein and its similarities to Dark Souls
Code Vein seems to be based on the Dark Souls series. From the outset, it is clearly designed to be very similar to Dark Souls, in terms of game mechanics, which is not a bad thing. The story seems simple enough: you play as someone who was raised by another person and must find out who they are and what they want. As you progress, you come across multiple allusions to The Dark Souls series; for example, many enemies and bosses in Code Vein strongly resemble those in Dark Souls. However, this is not a game that should be compared to Dark Souls in anyway shape or form. Code Vein is very much its own thing. The Dark Souls games are great, and they do deserve a lot of recognition. However, in order to truly understand why Code Vein is so similar to the Dark Souls series, its important to understand what Code Vein actually is.
In the first Dark Souls game (2009), you play as an undead knight named Link who must find a way to defeat an evil god of death. In Dark Souls 2 (2014), you are still Link, but this time he is a knight who must defeat the evil god of death and reclaim his lost memories of his past life as a human.

Gameplay mechanics of Code Vein and how they differ from other action RPGs
Code Vein is a lot like Dark Souls. The game has a heavy emphasis on player combat. Players have the ability to customize their character by choosing weapons and abilities, much like in Dark souls. In Code Vein however you are not allowed to strengthen your armor extensively so it’s best to pick your armor based on how it makes your character look. In addition, players can choose to be a vampire or a Lost. If you’re a Lost, you have more abilities and abilities that utilize blood. The game is much more streamlined than other similar games on the market. In this article I will be focusing on the differences between Code Vein and other action rpgs.
In the game there are three ways to attack. First, you can swing your sword in a melee attack or attach a weapon to your finger and pull it out. Second, you can use magic by using the magic tool. Third, using special weapons with unique properties. The special weapons are used by holding down the attack button and then attacking. They are weapons that have fixed properties such as shooting lightning or swinging a spiked chain. It is possible to swing multiple swords at once or shoot multiple fireballs at once. When you use these special weapons, your weapon durability is consumed so it’s best to use them in a pinch.

Whether or not Code Vein is worth purchasing if you already own a copy of Dark Souls
If you have Dark Souls and have played other games like Bloodborne, Bloodborne is a better game.Code Vein feels nearly identical to Dark Souls and its gameplay will be very familiar to players. It is not a bad game, it’s just not as good as Dark Souls in my opinion; it doesn’t feel like it out of necessity but because Code Vein was done so well the developers didn’t add much new content to Code Vein. This is not a game that I would recommend if you already own a copy of Dark Souls, but since it’s been getting great reviews and is actually pretty good code Vein is worth a look if you’re on the fence.
Why play Bloodborne instead of Code Vein?
The answer to this question is very simple. Bloodborne is the better game and most importantly, it’s more interesting. Bloodborne is a third person action RPG that plays entirely in first person; like Dark Souls. If you have played Bloodborne and enjoyed it, then I highly recommend you pick up Code Vein. In fact, if you never played Bloodborne I have to say that Code Vein is the best alternative to a Souls game.

HowCode Veinis shaping up to be one of the best action RPGs of 2018
Code Vein is shaping up to be one of the best Action RPG’s of 2018. It has a metric ton of good things going for it. For starters, Code Vein does such a good job at emulating Dark Souls that if you don’t know any better you would think the game was developed by FromSoftware. It’s very easy to get into and it definitely has a lot of potential. Be sure to check it out on your console or PC.
The combat is easily the best part of this game. It’s very fast paced with tons of invasions and you can use one button to dodge and two to attack. In my opinion, one button isn’t even necessary because it is so fast, invades become a thing of the past in this game and if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. There are also many different ways to dispatch the enemies that are scattered throughout each area. You can use your blood and your sword. You can use your blood to heal yourself and you can use your sword to deflect attacks. I think the fact that there are so many different ways to kill enemies really adds a lot of variety to the combat system. In my opinion, if you want a game that is similar to Dark Souls then this is one of the best options available for you at the moment.
Code Vein also has an interesting story which is what actually brought me into this game in the first place. The story is very well written and it actually has a few cliffhangers that I am excited to see be resolved. It’s a shame this game isn’t on PC because I would definitely check it out.
