Cinema 4D is easier to use for beginners
People looking to get into 3D graphics with a software package will find themselves quickly abandoning cinema 4d for the more widely-used Maya. However, it should be noted that for beginners, “cinema 4d is easier to use”. It has a more user-friendly interface and doesn’t require as much time learning how to navigate around in its interface as Maya does. For a beginner, this is one of the best reasons to go with cinema 4d. It should also be noted that Maya has a tendency to have more advanced features and functions than cinema 4d. So, you’re better off with 4d if you’re really a newbie to 3d. This can be explained by the fact that cinema 4d has a more beginner-friendly interface and learning curve.[/ARTICLE]

Title: Maya’s own cinema 4d gets a more friendly interface

Maya has more features and can be used for more complex projects
As kitschy as it may sound, the difference between the two softwares is all about features. While 4d has a lot of very useful tutorials and youtube videos for beginners to follow, Maya has more advanced features, such as particle systems and rigid body dynamics. Particle systems are an intense topic in Maya. A wide variety of plugins exist that make use of this feature in only Maya (in fact, there are plugins for cinema 4d). For example, MoGraph has many plugin options for creating particle systems. Rigid body dynamics is another feature that may be present in Maya but not cinema 4d, although it is possible to find them. The available features in 4d and the complexity of each makes it easy to say that Maya can be used for more complex projects than cinema 4d, despite its simpler interface might lead you to believe.

Cinema 4D is more affordable
Another advantage of 4d is that it is more affordable than Maya. It’s a good idea to take this into consideration when you are planning to use the program, because it may make all the difference in whether or not you use it. Cinema 4D, despite being very easy to learn and use, can be quite costly if you already have a license for Maya. That’s why most people end up selling their Maya and buy a Cinema 4D. The price of a Cinema 4D license is cheaper than that of a Maya license, so in the end, it’s a great deal.
Reasons:
MAYA: very easy to install and use. There are many tutorials around the internet as well as books and magazines that will tell you how to use it. It has more features than c4d and can be used for extremely high end projects such as film making and CG television shows. This makes it an excellent option for professionals in the industry.
CINEMA 4D: Is a cheaper alternative to maya, and has a simpler design to the interface. It is easier to learn and use than Maya. Cinema 4d is ideal for those starting out on 3d.

Maya is better for creating realistic 3D models
As much as we hate to admit it, the two softwares have their differences even if you’re talking about how well they deal with models. For example, Maya is better at making realistic models. We’re not just talking about the physical properties of objects; we mean the overall model’s quality too. It can create more realistic density and its particle systems are more advanced than 4d’s. However, that alone doesn’t mean that you have to be a pro in order to use Maya. Cinema 4D can also create high-quality models despite its more simple interface.
The truth is, there are many professionals who use both softwares for different purposes. They often use both in tandem to create their projects or just to improve the output of one of them. You can do the same, provided you know how to handle both. Cinema 4D is already being used by many professionals and no matter what tools you’re using for your models, it’s always good to know that there are people who have used them before you.

Cinema 4D is better for motion graphics and animation
Cinema 4d is definitely better for making motion graphics and animations, but the advantage that it has over Maya is not as great as you might think at first. Maya can make motion graphics much easier since it has such a wide variety of tools and toolsets. However, Cinema 4D still has its share of animation tools, including control rigs and 3d character builder. In addition, Maya’s animation tools are more sophisticated than 4d’s too. Therefore, if you’re planning on making a lot of animations for this project, then it’s better to go for Maya.
For this example, I will be using Maya, so that it’s easier to follow the motion.
Here are my animations. Take a look at how they were created:
Not really impressive right? I could have done much better with Maya. Here is a more complex animation that I made with Cinema 4D:
