Amazon subtitles can be out of sync with the audio
To see if the issue has something to do with the subtitles, try playing the video with an external player, such as VLC Player or Windows Media Player. If subtitles still don’t update correctly, you’ll want to try to update them by restarting VLC Player, making sure that it’s on a page that automatically updates the subtitles in case Amazon has a lag spike. If subtitles still don’t update correctly, there may be something wrong with Amazon’s servers that are updating the subtitles.
If this does resolve your issue, please post on the VLC for Windows 10 Feedback Hub and note that you’ve found a solution so that we can update this article with this workaround. If you see an error in here and believe it to be a dead link, please let us know by posting on the Feedback Hub as well.
BEST OF LUCK!
This can be a frustrating issue, especially if you’re trying to watch a movie or TV show
Things to try: Try adjusting the volume, first with the player’s volume controls before checking your audio cables. This can help. Reboot your player and check the subtitles again. If that doesn’t work, try closing the player and restarting it. If none of these steps helped, you’re most likely going to have to contact Amazon Support.
Amazon subtitles out of sync : This can be a frustrating issue, especially if you’re trying to watch a movie or TV show. In this post we’ll go over some potential causes and how you can fix it.
Fuzzy subtitles in Amazon Prime video
This issue is most common with Amazon Prime Video, but other streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix can also have this problem. It’s not hardware related as it happens in the video player on your computer or mobile device and is a bit more difficult to diagnose. As a workaround you can just switch to a different video service.
General fixes: (1) Reboot the player and check again. (2) Close the video player and start it again. (3) Update to latest firmware or uninstall then reinstall the video app from the Amazon App store.

There are a few ways to try and fix the problem yourself
This site has a detailed list of ways to fix Amazon’s subtitles. Your best bet is using a browser extension that circumvents Amazon’s automatic subtitle update feature. I personally use SubtitleBuzz. You can also manually copy the subtitles into your VLC player on the “Manage” menu, which should cause the subtitles to update correctly. Let us know if these fixes work for you.

If that doesn’t work, you can always reach out to Amazon for help
Click the little “i” in the top right corner of the video and then click “Report an Issue.” Explain that the subtitles are out of sync. Existing customers can also send Amazon customer service a message on their web site. New customers, however, are not able to send a direct message to customer service.

In the meantime, you might want to find an alternative streaming service until the issue is fixed
CinemaNow has a lot of TV shows and movies, but I haven’t tried it before, so I can’t recommend it. You could also try iTunes or Google Play to rent and buy TV shows and movies. Good luck!
In the meantime, you might want to find an alternative streaming service until the issue is fixed. Last night I was watching a TV show on Cinemanow when all of a sudden it went out of sync with the subtitles. I tried several times and reloaded but there’s no point in waiting for Cinemanow to fix this problem if there are other alternatives.
The site does have a lot of TV shows, but the user interface is very confusing. I haven’t tried iTunes or Google Play before, so I can’t say if they have the same problem.
