How to identify if your device has an activation lock
In order to see if your device has an activation lock on it, you need to either plug in your device or turn on the device. Once your device has turned on or is connected to a power source, you need to press the power button and hold it until the Nextbook logo appears. When the Nextbook logo appears, you need to press and hold the volume down button. If a menu comes up with an option saying “Start” or “Reset”, then you have an activation lock.
If a menu does not come up with either of these options, then your device does not have an activation lock. If your device is a Nextbook Flexx 10″ tablet, then it does not have an activation lock because your device is already unlocked.

How to bypass the activation lock if it is enabled
There are 2 ways to bypass the activation lock if it is enabled on your Nextbook device and both of them are available to you. The first method that you can use is called ‘pattern unlock’ and the second method that you can use is called a ‘product authorization’. Pattern unlock is a pattern that can be used to unlock the Nextbook tablet but only once. The pattern will be a 5 digit code. This means that you will have to provide this code every time you try a new device. The second method that works is called product authorization, which is available on all Nextbook devices running the latest version of Android (4.0 or higher), and it allows users to bypass activation lock without losing any data or providing any other information about themselves to Nextbook R&O anymore than they already do.
Now things get more complicated, the first thing you have to do is to update your console version of Nextbook R&O to the latest version (4.1 or later releases), this will allow you to use the product authorization feature and bypass the activation lock. Next you will have to enable the ‘product authorization’ option from the settings menu. Now since this will involve more information, you’re going to need a device that has been rooted and is running custom firmware. The good news is that rooting can be done in less than ten minutes for most devices and firmware can be flashed in about twenty minutes so even if it seems like a lot to you, it isn’t really.
Next follow these steps:
1) Install the Android SDK from Google.
2) Find your device by using the ‘adb shell’.
3) Make sure that the Boot Mode is set to ‘fastboot bootloader’ in your device.
4) Download the factory images for your device from Google.
5) Place all of the downloaded files in one folder and extract them there.

Tips for keeping your device safe from theft or unauthorized use
Here are some tips for keeping your Nextbook device safe from theft or unauthorized use: 1. Lock and/or password protect your tablet. 2. Enable the “find my tablet” feature on your tablet. 3.
