Check your cables and cords
Make sure that whatever network cable or power cord you are using is working properly and checking it regularly to ensure that nothing has come loose. If you notice signs of excessive wear and tear on the cable, then it might be a good idea to replace it. Additionally, make sure that your cables are in proper order and not tangled up in any way.
You should also check your network devices to ensure that they haven’t been knocked loose or disconnected while moving them around. Check these devices at least once a week for any loose cords or wires and fix them if you see anything amiss.
It’s also important to be aware of the location of network cable jacks where you keep things like soda cans and light bulbs, as these have their own potential for damage. Keep them from coming into contact with other objects by covering them up with a thick piece of foam or insulation.

Update your network adapter
Make sure that your network adapter has up-to-date drivers so that it can communicate with the other devices on your network. To update your network adapter:
-Open Device Manager by typing “devmgmt.msc” in the start menu.
-Expand the Network Adapters section and right-click on your network card, select Update Driver Software.
-Follow the instructions to update your drivers with Windows Update or manually specify a driver’s location.
If you need more information about updating drivers please visit https://www.microsoftsupport.com/gl/?refid=4585.
-Click OK to save the changes and exit device manager, you may restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
-The network icon on the system tray should now have a green checkmark.
-If the network icon on the system tray still has an exclamation point, it most likely means that a network device is conflicting with your new adapter. The conflicting device may need to be removed and reinstalled.
Please contact your PC manufacturer for more information about removing and reinstalling devices.

Reboot your router
Sometimes your router will become unresponsive, locking you out of your network. Simply unplugging it and plugging it back in again will fix the problem. If this does not work, press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds to reset the router.
We suggest you reboot your router regularly, to clear the memory and keep your connection up to date.
Note: Depending on your network equipment, you may have a physical reset button (e.g. a small hole), an obscure key combination or a software reset utility you can run to perform this function. For more information, consult the documentation for your router or web-based configuration tool.

Reset your modem
If none of the above work, resetting your modem can sometimes do the trick. To do this, unplug the modem for about ten seconds then plug it back in and try to see if you can get back into your network. If it works, your modem is fine. If not, you may have to replace it.[/ARTICLE]

Add an extender to your network
When adding an extra device to your network, make sure that the network hubs support extend mode and that the switch also supports extend mode, otherwise you may be restricted from adding any extra devices. You must always add an extender in the same order as your network is configured.
The devices can only be added from the bottom up, i.e., you cannot use the extender that sits on top of your network.
In other words, if your network is configured as in the image below, you must use either a switch or a hub as your first extender and then connect it to another switch or hub as indicated in the diagram.
This is an example of adding three devices to the network.
