Data portability in the gambling sector: some critical observations

The EU General Data Protection Regulation will bring with it the right to data portability, which will require businesses to transfer an individualís personal data to other companies at the request of the data subject. Antoon Dierick and Charlotte Suffys of DLA Piper LLP discuss the right to data portability in the context of online gambling, the limitations and how the right might apply to different types of data that online gambling operators have about players.
