Reform’s report on AI in the NHS

The rise of the robots appears to be continuing unabated according to the recent report ‘Thinking on its own: AI in the NHS’ (the ‘Report’) published by think tank Reform on 11 January 2018. Stating that artificial intelligence (‘AI’) could help transform UK healthcare, Reform’s Report makes a number of key recommendations, outlining how the NHS can become more efficient and deliver better outcomes for patients. Robin Smith, Head of Cyber Security at South Yorkshire NHS, provides his assessment of the Report and discusses how the future of the NHS may be impacted by the adoption of AI in healthcare.
