The transformation of the cyber security threat landscape starts with education

Recruiting the best in cyber security talent remains a competitive business for both industry and governments. In 2015, the Cybersecurity National Action Plan (‘CNAP’) was formulated in the US to, inter alia, ensure that individuals, businesses and governments alike can access the most sophisticated tools and people at their disposal to protect information and privacy. Dr Emma Garrison-Alexander, Vice Dean, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at the University of Maryland University College (‘UMUC’), reports on the current state of cyber education in the US and opines how implementing cyber awareness into education could make strides in mitigating cyber security threats.
