Editorial: Defining the cyber security controls trajectory

In last month’s editorial I asked about readers’ ‘GDPR-live’ experiences. Ours at PwC have continued to be illuminating, as we’re picking up some very interesting instructions on serious security breach cases. These cases continue to confirm the value of the ‘play book,’ the organisational instruction manual for handling incidents and delivering on the Accountability Principle, but perhaps more interesting is the position we’re seeing on security controls frameworks: there’s still a great deal of confusion about what they should consist of and what ‘good’ looks like.
